I Think That We Are Supernatural. We Are Unique. We're The Only Animals In The Universe That We Know Of That Actually Have Self-consciousness, A Sense Of Time And Our Own Mortality.

I Don't Believe In Hell. The Idea That A Supreme Being Would Make Hell Is Ridiculous. An Eternity Of Pain That Results In No Learning, Reformation Or Rebirth Is A Nauseating Idea. It's One Of The Reasons I Left Christianity. I Simply Could Not Accept That Version Of God.

Despair Was So Familiar To Me; It Could Be Banished By The Sight Of A Beautiful Mannikin In The Window. It Could Be Dispelled By The Spectacle Of Lights Surrounding A Tower. It Could Be Lifted By The Great Ghostly Shape Of St. Patrick's Coming Into View. And Then Despair Would Come Again.

And Books, They Offer One Hope -- That A Whole Universe Might Open Up From Between The Covers, And Falling Into That Universe, One Is Saved.
