I Believe We Have Made A Decision Now That Will Permit Us To Create An Economic Order In The World That Will Promote More Growth, More Equality, Better Preservation Of The Environment, And A Greater Possibility Of World Peace, We Are On The Verge Of A Global Economic Expansion That Is Sparked By The Fact That The United States At This Critical Moment Decided That We Would Compete, Not Retreat.

We Can't Afford To Lose Control Of Our Own Borders Or To Take On New Financial Burdens At A Time When We Are Not Adequately Providing For The Jobs, The Health Care And The Education Of Our Own People.

The Kyoto Treaty Wasn't Perfect, But We Signed It, In Fact, Helped To Draft It. And I'm Very Proud Of It, It Was The World's First Commitment To Doing Something Comprehensive On Greenhouse Gases And Trying To Reduce Global Warming Before We Do Irreversible Damage To Many Civilizations Around The World.

When I Think About The World I Would Like To Leave To My Daughter And The Grandchildren I Hope To Have, It Is A World That Moves Away From Unequal, Unstable, Unsustainable Interdependence To Integrated Communities - Locally, Nationally And Globally - That Share The Characteristics Of All Successful Communities.
