I Think What's Happening With The Veterans Is A Gift From God To Show Us What Happens When You Take Layers And Layers Of Bureaucracy And Place Them Between The Patients And The Health Care Provider. And If We Can't Get It Right, With The Relatively Small Number Of Veterans, How In The World Are You Going To Do It With The Entire Population?

There Comes A Time When People With Values Simply Have To Stand Up. Think About Nazi, Germany. Most Of Those People Did Not Believe In What Hitler Was Doing.

It Does Not Matter Where We Come From Or What We Look Like. If We Recognize Our Abilities, Are Willing To Learn And To Use What We Know In Helping Others, We Will Always Have A Place In The World.

Occasionally I Talk With People Who See Doctors As People Who Do Nothing But Give Of Themselves And Never Receive From Anyone Else - Especially Not From Their Patients. That Is Totally False. The Longer I Remain In My Profession, The More I Realize How Much I Receive From Those Who Come To Me For Help.
