I Know This Challenge From Firsthand Experience Because I Have Three Children And Four Grandsons.and Some Of The Time I Have Spent As A Scientist And As An Explorer Has Meant Choosing To Not Be With My Children And Grandchildren As Much As I Might Otherwise Have Done Had I Not Been A Scientist, An Explorer.

If The Sea Is Sick, We'll Feel It. If It Dies, We Die. Our Future And The State Of The Oceans Are One.

It Doesn't Matter Where On Earth You Live, Everyone Is Utterly Dependent On The Existence Of That Lovely, Living Saltwater Soup. There's Plenty Of Water In The Universe Without Life, But Nowhere Is There Life Without Water.

I've Spent Thousands Of Hours Under Water. And Even In The Deepest Dive I Have Ever Made, 2.5 Miles (about 4 Kilometers) Down, I Saw Trash And Other Tangible Evidence Of Our Presence.
