Civil Society People - These Are The People - Civil Society Groups Are The People Who Need To Monitor The Aid To Ensure That The Aid Is Directed To What It Is Supposed To. And In Order For Them To Do So, They Need To Have The Space, They Need To Have The Freedom, And They Need To Have The Right To Demonstrate, And To Petition Their Government. They Can't Do That In Ethiopia; They Can't Do That In Eritrea; And So This Is Why I Was Cautioning That We May Be Repeating Some Of Our Old Mistakes.

This Foreign Policy Stuff Is A Little Frustrating.

Some Who Call Themselves Realists Question Whether The Spread Of Democracy In The Middle East Should Be Any Concern Of Ours. But The Realists In This Case Have Lost Contact With A Fundamental Reality: America Has Always Been Less Secure When Freedom Is In Retreat; America Is Always More Secure When Freedom Is On The March.

America Rejects Bigotry. We Reject Every Act Of Hatred Against People Of Arab Background Or Muslim Faith America Values And Welcomes Peaceful People Of All Faiths - Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu And Many Others. Every Faith Is Practiced And Protected Here, Because We Are One Country. Every Immigrant Can Be Fully And Equally American Because We're One Country. Race And Color Should Not Divide Us, Because America Is One Country.
