My View Is There Will Be Problems And Bad People As Long As The Earth Exists, And Since We're Moving Into A Completely Interdependent Global Environment, We're Better Off Building A World We'd Like To Live In When The United States Are Not The Only Military Superpower. That Is, We Need To Build A World Of Shared Responsibility, Shared Benefits, And Shared Commitment To Our Common Humanity.

All America Loses When Any Person Is Denied Or Forced Out Of A Job Because Of Sexual Orientation. Being Gay, The Last Time I Thought About It, Seemed To Have Nothing To Do With The Ability To Read A Balance Book, Fix A Broken Bone, Or Change A Spark Plug.

Simply Put, No Society Can Truly Flourish If It Stifles The Dreams And Productivity Of Half Its Population. Happily, I See Evidence All Over The World That Women Are Gaining Social And Economic Power That They Never Had Before. This Is Good News.

If You Want To Know Where I Come By The Passionate Commitment I Have To Bringing People Together Without Regard To Race, It All Started With My Grandfather.

So We, Democrats, Have A Responsibility There, Every One Of Us, Both To Try To Treat The Republicans With Respect And As Human Beings To Try To Work With Them On Every Issue We Can, And Then If Those Cannons Are Fired At Us, We've Got To Stand Up And Fight Back. If You Lay Down And You Look Like A Deer Caught In The Headlights, Then You Will Confirm The Assault. And So We Have To Fight Back.
