We Are Determined To Achieve An Enduring Peace - A Peace With Liberty And With Honor. This Determination, This Resolve, Is The Highest Tribute We Can Pay To The Many Who Have Fallen In The Service Of Our Nation.

The Men Of Normandy Had Faith That What They Were Doing Was Right, Faith That They Fought For All Humanity, Faith That A Just God Would Grant Them Mercy On This Beachhead Or The Next. It Was The Deep Knowledge - And Pray God We Have Not Lost It - That There Is A Profound Moral Difference Between The Use Of Force For Liberation And The Use Of Force For Conquest.

I Can't Claim To Know The Words Of All The National Anthems In The World, But I Don't Know Of Any Other That Ends With A Question And A Challenge As Ours Does: Does That Flag Still Wave O'er The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave? That Is What We Must All Ask.
